Simulations are an awesome way to training staff members in many cases. Many people (including myself) consider simulations as an applicable training avenue for specific tasks (airplane cockpit, CPR Training, etc.) but in actuality it is amazing how many types of learning can be taught via simulations. One of these areas that is very pertinent to my organization is Sales Training. We have always utilized face to face classroom training for our sales training assuming that you must have one on one contact in order to role play and engage in the activities necessary to open a sale, overcome objections, close the sale, etc. I have actually found multiple sites and sources that discuss the advantages of simulating sales training for your employees. Obviously the cost and efficiency of this training rise to the top of the list of advantages but other reasons include the immediate access, the ability to create a program that is tailored to a particular product or service as well as a 'choose you own' route that directs the learner into a variety of situations in a quick and easy format rather than having to re-create this in a live environment.
